"I'm not good enough..."
"I don't deserve to be..."

These are self-limiting thoughts that come from doubting yourself. Self-doubt can also lead to negative self-talk and a lack of confidence, which can impact your overall mental health and well-being. It can cause you to feel anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed and may even contribute to symptoms of depression.

If your answer is 'yes', this insecurity and uncertainty can be a significant obstacle to achieving your goals and fulfilling your potential. Self-doubt is a feeling of uncertainty about one's abilities or qualities. Lacking trust and self-confidence can hinder and stop you from achieving your thriving life. It can arise from a variety of factors, including fear of failure, lack of self-esteem, comparison with others, and negative self-talk.


However, it's important to know that self-doubt can be overcome with the right techniques and mindset. In this blog post, we will discuss some tips for overcoming self-doubt and boosting your confidence.
Identifying the source of self-doubt can be a challenging process, but it is an essential step towards overcoming it. Here are some ways to identify the source of self-doubt:

Try to identify specific events or situations that may have contributed to your self-doubt. Were there times when you were criticised or rejected? Did you experience a failure or setback you have been unable to move past? Reflecting on these experiences can help you understand why you may be struggling with self-doubt.

Our beliefs about ourselves and the world around us can play a big role in shaping our self-doubt. Consider whether you have any negative beliefs about yourself or your abilities. Ask yourself where these beliefs come from and whether they are based on reality or simply your perception.

Perfectionism is often thought to be indicative of people experiencing self-doubt. In this sense, letting go of rigid standards and allowing yourself to make mistakes without judging yourself too harshly can help you gain confidence in your abilities. And also, messages from society and media can also feed into feelings of self-doubt - comparing ourselves with standards that are often unattainable leaves us feeling inadequate and leads us down a path of negative thoughts about ourselves.

Set goals that require you to learn new skills or take on new challenges, but also keep them realistic.

Focus on your strengths

Focusing on your strengths is another effective way to overcome self-doubt. We all have unique talents and abilities, and it's important to recognise and celebrate them. Focus on what you're good at and use your strengths to your advantage. This can help you build confidence and overcome self-doubt.

Practice self-care

Taking care of yourself is an essential part of overcoming self-doubt. This may involve practising self-care activities like meditation, exercise, or spending time with loved ones. Make sure to take breaks and give yourself time to recharge. When you take care of yourself, you'll feel better both physically and mentally, and this can help you overcome self-doubt.

Overcoming self-doubt is no easy feat, and it can be even more challenging when you feel like you're doing it alone. Hence, seeking support from others can be a powerful tool in overcoming self-doubt. That's why it's important to have a support system in place - people who believe in you and can help you stay motivated and focused on your goals. Here are some tips for getting support from others when overcoming self-doubt.

The first step is to identify the people in your life who can offer support. This might include family members, friends, or mentors to help you move forward. Make a list of these people and reach out to them for help when you need it. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and support your goals.
